OC Marathon – Course, Elevation and Race Info

The OC Marathon, a celebrated event in the vibrant coastal communities of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Santa Ana, is a runner’s dream with its net downhill course, amazing views, and near perfect weather.

Held annually on the first Sunday of May, the OC marathon boasts a route that captures the essence of Southern California’s coastal beauty. Participants experience a unique blend of urban and natural landscapes, with the majority of the elevation loss occurring in the first 5 miles, followed by a few small inclines and declines to keep things interesting. The course also features a couple of other small hills at miles 7, 11, and near mile 22, adding a bit of challenge to the otherwise fast and scenic run.
