The London Marathon is a massive event in the UK, drawing people from all over the world for a 26.2-mile race through the heart of London. Starting in Greenwich and finishing by Buckingham Palace, the route passes famous spots like the Tower Bridge and the London Eye.
One cool thing about this marathon is its mix of serious runners and folks just out for the challenge. Anyone can join in and be cheered on by huge crowds lining the streets.
What makes it even more special is the vibrant atmosphere. London comes alive on marathon day, with music, cheers, and supporters all around. Plus, there’s a fantastic charity aspect—lots of runners raise money for various causes, making it a race for a good cause too.

The TCS London Marathon route has basically remained unchanged since the inaugural race in 1981.
Note that the mile markers are slightly off from the official PDF map, because we used an actual runner’s GPS route to calculate mile marker positions, which are probably closer to what most runners would experience.

(C) London Marathon Expo – The Running Show
The London Marathon Running Show is one of the biggest exhibitions tailored for running and fitness. Lasting four days (Wednesday – Saturday), it attracts thousands of runners and visitors each year. As usual, this is also the place to pick up your bib number and race packet. You will find New Balance footwear and official apparels for sale at the show, along with hundreds of exhibitors demonstrating various products and services.
